Pop Song exhibition launch by New York artist Kyler Garrison

A series of paintings which explore the feeling of a vague memory, contextualised in a mess of gradients and lines that stretch thin. The visual experience feels like an abstracted recollection or a forgotten melody that becomes distorted with time.


Each piece in the exhibition draws inspiration from past or resent everyday observations, as well as nostalgic pop culture influences paired with sharp knots of lines that act as a barrier of recognition. Kyler Garrison uses an airbrush to build up the layers of blurred acrylic, intending for detail to get lost in translation.

To coincide with the exhibition Village have published a zine of the same name which will be available throughout the course of the exhibition.
