Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 4pm

Many coffee houses claim to offer the best in town, but Takk takes the idea to a whole new level. Aesthetically inspired by Scandinavian interior design, all open brickwork, large bare hanging bulbs and minimalist furniture, the cafe is also home to its own roastery, with all beans prepared on-site to ensure you won’t find a fresher cup anywhere in the city. Not content with this, though, the address also celebrates other independents, with guest roasters regularly invited to host pop-ups on the brew bar and sell their wares in the retail section. There, you’ll also find Takk branded merchandise and high-grade coffee equipment for those who want to take rich flavours home, enjoy and savour whenever they want, with staff expertly trained in all things speciality coffee and ready to share that knowledge with customers keen to learn secrets of the trade.

In addition to Finca Miravalle single origin beans direct from growers in El Salvador, one of the in-house espresso choices here, and the visiting varieties, Takk also makes a mean brunch, with a truly standout menu. Favourites include Nduja Eggs — with spiced Calabrian pork salumi spread, poached eggs, avocado and signature Takk salsa verde — and the equally hot and in-demand Chilli Scrambled, prepared with smoked chilli butter, Curthwaite goats curd and charred tenderstem broccoli. Staying for something sweet? Opt for the Salted Caramel Brownie or Vegan Carrot Cake, just two options from a desert counter comprising all homemade treats which, as it happens, go perfectly with that coffee.
