Detroit legend DJ Stingray joins meandyou frontman Herron for The Make Believe Ballroom’s last ever dance in the Soup Kitchen basement! DJ Stingray has quite simply been a driving force in Detroit for more than two decades, a near-mythical Motor City DJ steeped in the tradition of Drexciya and Underground Resistance. Stingray is an electro powerhouse DJ who we guarantee will bring his own unique underground perspective and blistering technical skills for his Soup Kitchen debut that have famously championed him one of the most talked about DJs on the circuit. Opening proceedings is Soup Kitchen boss and Hinge Finger affiliate Herron. Sam is a local legend in the Manchester scene, known for his reputation as a killer DJ and producer.

Tonight they come to Band On The Wall for what will be a standing show.

For the Bank Holiday Sunday evening Matt & Phred’s have a very special gig to celebrate International Jazz Day featuring Arun Ghosh! Arun Ghosh is a British-Asian clarinettist, composer and music educator. Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, matured in Manchester and now living in London Arun Ghosh’s musical vocabulary and vision reflects his rich geographical heritage. Using the spirit and language of Jazz, with the sounds and styles of Hip-Hop, Indian Classical and Folk, western Classical, Rock, Pop and Avant-garde, Ghosh’s music is full of lyrical melodies and searching harmonies, down to earth directness and psychedelic ambient introspection. Arun is joined on stage with a stella line up of musicians including, John Ellis, Jason Singh and Dave Walsh.

Join them as they celebrate the musical and artistic genius of Kate through an overuse of smoke machines, lots of wearable Kate masks, Kate lyric posters, Kate visuals and plenty of Kate capes for use whilst swirling around the dance floor. Tag team DJ sets from Kate obsessives Rod Connolly and Christopher Dresden Styles playing Kate and her mates, but mainly Kate.
