What's On in the Northern Quarter ~ Sunday 25th August

2022NQ
Love Dose Manchester is One with Genius Of Time / Tristan Da Cunha

On August Bank Holiday, Love Dose bring to Manchester one of the UK’s leading underground jocks, vibe guru and resident at the longest running club night in the world (Back to Basics), FNR friend and favourite, bad boy producer, vinyl pusher and one of the masterminds behind the brilliantly surreal club in Leeds they call The Garage (DJ mags 2012 ‘Best Small Club’) – The one, the only Tristan Da Cunha. This got the Love Dose team pretty buzzing, but they wanted to make things even more special. I mean you only turn 1 once right? So they saw this video and knew what they had to do….

So the super popular Stockholm duo Genius Of Time will be flying straight in from their new home town of Berlin to entertain us all alongside Tristan and the Love Dose residents and friends. Get your tickets sharpish.

Dry Live
Community 25 Year Later Party with Irfan Rainy & guests

This special event celebrates 25 years since the ‘summer of love’ saw House music explode onto the Manchester music scene. 1988 was quite an incredible time for House music in Manchester as the dance music scene exploded into a worlwide phenomena through clubs like The Haçienda and as a young DJ, Irfan Rainy was caught up in the overwhelming onrush of it all. Now 25 years later Irfan will play a classics set from the golden period of House music and has also put together a mix to show everyone that it wasn’t all ‘mindless’ Acid House in 88, there was plenty of Deep House and Detroit Techno rocking the dancefloors too. Have a listen and see you on the dancefloor!
