Beat Boutique August, Soup Kitchen

Soup Kitchen
Beat Boutique Summer Party with Al Kent

It’s a busy summer for Beat Boutique with Liam and Jonny DJing all over the place; from local clubs to festivals like Kendal Calling, Delamere Forest (warming up for The Charlatans!) and the forthcoming No 6 Festival in Portmerion. So organising a summer party at their musical home, The Soup Kitchen, looked logistically impossible. But they’ve done it and are putting on a  very special Beat Boutique Summer Disco for us.

There’s really only one DJ they wanted for this special party: their first ever guest at The Soup Kitchen and probably the world’s biggest disco lover, the legendary Al Kent. Al’s disco sound is just right for today’s dance-floors with fresh remixes and edits of rareties and classics, seemlessly mixed for your disco delight!

The band take its inspiration from contemporary New Orleans musicians but have a repertoire that ranges from Marvin Gaye to George Michael, from Cee-Lo Green to Stevie Wonder with some funky, gritty northern originals thrown in for good measure. Band members include Simon Dennis (Trumpet), Dan Webster (Trumpet), Andrew Cox (Tenor), Charlie Lancaster (Trombone), Tim Hurst (Trombone), James Lancaster (Sousaphone) and Tom Hawthorn (Drums).
