Immigrant Records invites Funk D’Void to Manchester for a night of classic and future Techno. Lars Sandberg aka Funk D’Void is a living legend among the DJ Community and has been at the forefront of the electronic music scene for over 25 years. Lars joined the Immigrant family in the early 00’s via his remix of LA based techno supremo John Tejada and is currently working on a new project for the label. This show at The Whiskey Jar will be Funk D’Void’s first gig in Manchester since 2015 and he will be supported by Robin Porter and festival favourite Jason Frost aka Frosty.

As part of their new Saturday early evening live music gigs, Matt & Phreds welcome Jeremy Sassoon to the club. Manchester based Jazz & Blues singer pianist Jeremy is one of the UK’s most in-demand singer/pianists. Either solo, or accompanied by his band, he captivates audiences with his natural, soulful voice, and a repertoire of his arrangements of Jazz and Blues classics and songs spanning a wide breadth of genres. Jeremy will be doing a solo set on piano spanning genres of Jazz, Blues and Soul. Jazz standards through the music of Ray Charles, Mose Allison and Sam Cooke. Arrangements of Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley, Glen Campbell and Jimi Hendrix and Amos Milburn will feature throughout the hour long gig.

If you are looking for a Bronx hip hop-inspired, New Orleans-tinged brass band formed in the deepest, darkest (and wettest) of North Wales slate quarries in late 2014 you are in luck as tonight Llareggub Brass Band come to Matt & Phred’s. The 8-piece ensemble perform original material that can only be described as a heady mix of modern dance music, New Orleans Jazz, and Welsh pop music. The band’s strength lies in their energetic live performances that often include rappers, vocalists and dancers. Check them out!
