High Five for MCR

High Five returns to Manchester this month for another great party down at 2022NQ, this time in aid of Forever Manchester. After bringing 12 of the city’s best DJs together for one event back in May, and in the process raising £1,200 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, they are sticking to the same winning formula. This time they are bringing together Manchester’s top FIVE house music nights and letting them do their thing, with DJs from The Warehouse Project, El Diablos, Content, Zutekh and TPot alongside some special guests and High Five residents Alan Hall and Matt Wilden.

As per usual at High Five parties they will be giving away a prize on the stroke of midnight, and as per usual its a big one, with all of the contributing nights donating two guestlist spaces to their next parties, this includes the 2012 opening party of The Warehouse Project in September full prize are over on their website;  High Five

This Saturday sees the launch of a brand new night at Simple on Tib Street, NYC Prohibition. Simple will go back to Prohibition times of the 1920′s and 30′s with period DVDs on show and some very special, and specially priced cocktails on offer. Details are sparse at the moment in true speakeasy style, but you’ll be able to get more on the Prohibition Facebook page, but one thing is for sure it’s bound to be a good time night with a fantastic atmosphere.

The Paul Farr Band

After years of playing on other peoples material (Tom Jones, Joss Stone, Lily Allen and many more) Paul Farr decided to put his efforts into his own music. What emerged was a blend of melodic jazz, gritty blues and funky New Orleans chopped with 70′s soul. To help him he enrolled arguably the best musicians for such a project and tonight alongside Paul on his guitar are Jamie Safiruddin (keys), Neil Fairclough (bass), Chris Manis (percussion) and Luke Flowers (Drums). The Paul Farr Band only play original music whether it’s jazz, blues, funk or whatever else comes out! They have DJs on rotation in the Kitchen and hand the cellar over to a different promotion every week.
