Established as a record shop for over 30 years Eastern Bloc is now a fully licensed bar open until 11pm with the occasional late license event. Some special local selectors as well as current and past staff members take the helm at the decks and provide your soundtrack. Tonight is a Micron special so the lineup includes Will Tramp (Homoelectric/WHP), Mark (Cosmic Disco), Josimar (Love Dose), Craig Campbell (Doodle) and Micron DJs. New soundsystem in full effect as well as a well stocked bar including a load of ales, lagers and bitter bottles from local brewer Cloudwater. Get involved!

Mrs Boon’s Tea Party
It’s the long awaited relaunch of the legendary weekly ‘Mrs Boon’s Tea Party‘ at Black Dog Ballroom as Mrs Boon serves up her amazing homemade cakes while Mr Boon spins the tunes. There’s live music at 3pm, this week from Prose, with ‘Story Time’ for the kids to follow. Perhaps most importantly, buy a cup of tea and all your top ups are free!

Budapest Ragtime Band
The Budapest Ragtime Band played at the Matt & Phred’s last summer and they loved them so much they’ve brought them back tonight. Founded in 1980 by former students of the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest, the high standard and creativity of their performances have made them one of the most prestigious jazz bands in Hungary in the last decades. Their repertoire includes pieces of traditional ragtime and classical music, swing melodies, Dixieland music, and instrumental solos as well.

from three angles simultaneously, firstly from Amadeus Martin’s
storytelling and observational humor about what makes Brixton the center of the universe and why it is on the cusp of independence, secondly through the reading of letters from his Polish pen pal providing flashbacks of his childhood, and thirdly in a live game show between two audience members to find the next Brixton Super Mayor.
