What's On in the Northern Quarter ~ Saturday 15th March

Dry Live
Franco & The Dreadnought / Johnny & The Giants / If You Like To Dance & more

Franco and the Dreadnought headlines Dry Live tonight, showcasing this Mancunion lad’s unique fingerstyle approach to playing guitar and creating consistently good songs full of hooks and twists. With the goods and the capability of packing arenas full of people waving their hands in the air and singing along with every fibre of their being you should get yourself to Dry Live to witness him in a relatively intimate setting before it’s too late. Along with his trusty sidekick, the Dreadnought, Franco’s singing and playing exude confidence while making no attempt at covering up his English inflections, his delivery is all the more real and raw. Franco is no stranger to success and as a testament to the power of his musical ability he was asked personally by Desmond Tutu to write a song celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela. The archbishop gave the song entitled “Inyaniso” (translation – “Truth”) as a gift to Mr Mandela for his birthday. Just go and see him and his support, Johnny & The Giants, If You Like To Dance, Memorymode and Broken Shadows!

Michael Kaeshammer Matt & Phreds

Matt & Phreds
Michael Kaeshammer

Michael Kaeshammer’s live performances, on record and on stage, are an invitation to join a party. He doesn’t play at you, he plays with you. At one of his shows you’re all in it together – not only part of the story, but virtually part of the band. A night with Michael and his band isn’t the kind of show where you just sit, watch and applaud politely every now and then. Their goal isn’t to intimidate you with the scholarly depth of their music, it’s to entertain, inform and include you – A wild ride with no fixed destination except where he feels he and the crowd want to go. Tonight be a part of the performance as Michael comes to Matt & Phreds
