Beyond A Rhythm are throwing their first party of the year and it’s going to be another family one with the nice people over at Red Light Radio in Amsterdam. Similar to when they had the Rye Wax guys playing, it will be an evening of records and lots of fun. There will be no sets times or particular musical policy, just two families playing records that they love. Tonight Beyond A Rhythm will be joined at Stage & Radio by Al Dee, Lien & Roelien from the Red Light Radio crew.

Täpp EP Launch

Täpp are a freshly formed, dynamic string loop pedal duo. The pair create original live music covering styles ranging from classical, jazz, trad. folk, electronic dance music, funk, world…you name it, they’ll play it! Täpp uses a range of techniques and draws upon a huge variety of musical influences to create new music and much of their live music is entirely improvised. As the duo use a loop pedal the audience at Gullivers tonight can see and hear the duo creating tracks from scratch – with the process entirely transparent, as well as captivating!

Matt & Phreds are super excited to welcome new band the Loud Noises to M&P’s! Loud Noises are a feisty four-piece brass outfit conceived on the streets of Leeds in 2016. This powerful combination of gutsy brass playing, daring repertoire and constant crowd interaction has already proven to get crowds moving. Equally at home playing traditional jazz standards or busting out arrangements of pop cult classics these competent musicians are highly mobile and able to adapt to any situation. Should be another great night at Matt & Phreds!

Tonight they have some awesome guests, so if live music from some of the best bands about (Hidden CharmsThe Bay Rays and Psyblings) isn’t enough for you, after they’ve finished at 11pm, the night goes from showcase to party as tonight very special guests Cabbage, take over the decks until the Antics DJs take you on into the early hours of the morning for this Foals special which celebrates 9 years since Foals played live at Night & Day Cafe.

Can You Hear Me Now? is a music zine that gives women a voice. They’re having a launch event at Aatma today with an afternoon of music and zine workshops, live music, & DJs. On the roster are Mother, Rachel Hillary and Canter Semper, with workshops running all day and lots of other musical accompaniment. Entry is free and the zine is sold on a give what you can basis. All proceeds will go to providing female hygiene products for homeless women in Manchester for Mad Dogs Street Project.

Some special local selectors as well as current and past staff members take the helm at the decks and provide your soundtrack. New soundsystem in full effect as well as a well stocked bar including a load of ales, lagers and bitter bottles from local brewer Cloudwater. Get involved!

Additionally, due to the increasing and unignorable homelessness situation in Manchester, especially around Stevenson Square, EB will be trying to raise money for The Mustard Tree by asking for a suggested £2 donation on the night to help those less fortunate.
