Manchester born heavy-funk/soul band The Plimp Souls are brought together by one vision: To give Manchester a fresh blend of authentic raw funk. Their goal is to break the mould of the usual “Funk’n’Soul band” and play a live selection of the rarest covers & rawest originals compiled from the vaults of DJ Simon Ham’s (You Dig?) 45’s record collection. Tonight The Plimp Souls are digging deep into their vaults to bring an exciting selection of rare Funk & Soul to Matt & Phreds.

J’s spent the past 12 months in the studio, signed an artist development deal and smashed opening slots for the likes of Akala, Dead Prez and Oddisee. Now he returns with his new EP ‘The Merchant of Manny‘, an autobiographical piece telling the story of a young man growing up in the city. Expect a frenetic set from J at Band On The Wall, plus he’s bringing in the big guns, with three supports on the night, JSD, The Shady 80’s & Dane.
