Manchester band The Brinks are fast becoming a must see for music fans far and wide. They have taken the local scene by storm over the past year with their infectious style and jaw dropping live performances and tonight they look to light up the stage at Gullivers. The Brinks take influence from blues rock bands across the decades, forging their own enigmatic style to thrill and excite their audience along the way. 2016 promises to be a magical ride for the band and everyone who comes across their path. Support comes from The Maitland’s, Jonny Oates Band and Susie Jones.

The notorious Solardo Secret Cellars Sessions bring cutting edge house and techno to The Whiskey Jar tonight. They are back to the bass filled cellar for yet another house and techno extravaganza! On the night Solardo will be doing a 4 hour set from Midnight until the end, and they will have a couple of secret guests to warm it all up. Last time round a whole load of people couldn’t get in once capacity was reached so make sure you get down early.

Hard Rock Heaven returns to The Ruby Lounge tonight with another huge line up.Guns Or Roses aka GoR have been noted as one of the most entertaining GnR tributes on the circuit and have wowed audiences from London to Norway, Manchester to Bulgaria. Black Ice is an ACDC tribute band who play an explosive mix of both the Brian Johnson and Bon Scott era’s of ACDC with lots of high energy and entertainment value. Iron Mayhem are an Iron Maiden cover band based with a vast array of classic Maiden songs at their disposal. Wild Thorn hail from Newcastle and are inspired by bands like Van Halen, Guns N Roses, New York Dolls, Kiss, Motley Crue and Motorhead. Ticket price gets you into The Dog House which follows.

The Dog House Rock Night takes place on the 1st Friday of every month at The Ruby Lounge, or at least it does now. As seen at Download Festival and Sonisphere Festival it has now arrived in Manchester and sounding awfully like Voodoo Rock! Not that that is a bad thing. They have 2 rooms; the first plays the very best in alternative rock and metal, while the second plays mostly classic/hard rock with a twist of punk, grunge and stoner. Alongside this musical revelry you’ll find podium dancers, “The scream screen“, prizes, giveaways and much more. The aforementioned ‘much more’ includes drinks offers.

Vanessa Carlton’s evolution as a songwriter and live performer is remarkable. Having burst onto the music scene in 2002 with her hit single ‘A Thousand Miles‘, one of the biggest singles of the early 2000s, she spent subsequent years sidelining her pop persona to create earnest, near avant-garde music which retains her honeysuckle vocals and delicate piano licks. Tonight she will grace the Band On The Wall stage following support from Jerry Williams.

The Lazy River Jazz Band formed in the early 1970’s to play dixieland /swing style music from the 20’s, 40’s and 50’s. The Quartet has supported nationally acclaimed musicians including the legendary Nat Gonella and have been the guests of many celebrated musicians. The Band Includes: Geoff Billington (Trumpet, Flugel Horn & Cornet), John Pennington (Clarinet & Alto Sax), Roy Billington (Tenor Banjo & Guitar) and Dave Parr (Bass). The band will play music of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller,Benny Goodman,and of the Charleston era.
