Stage & Radio
Karnival

Drawing inspiration from groundbreaking South American Performance company De La Guarda, Karnival is a night of inspired performance and incredible music. A totally immersive clubbing experience. Headlining Karnival’s 7th birthday, in the beautifully intimate space of Stage & Radio, will be none other than Justin Robertson. Supporting Justin is a cast of Manchester’s finest – firstly, Principle resident for El Diablo Social Club and To Rack & Ruin head honcho, Neil Diablo, will be spinning an intoxicating cocktail of house and disco. They will be joined by Karnival’s resident Tacet while hosting the upstairs bar area, friends of Karnival, Micron, will be supplying the tunes. They will be ably supported by new Karnival resident, Ten:10. If that isn’t enough, the Karnival performers will be there in force ensuring everyone gets a slice of the ethereal, a bite of the surreal and a trip into the unknown. Their aim is simple…to make sure you have one of the best nights of your life.

Soup Kitchen
The Comet Is Coming

Soup Kitchen present the return of Mercury Music Prize nominees The Comet Is Coming. The Comet is Coming is the soundtrack to an imagined apocalypse. In the aftermath of widespread sonic destruction what sounds remain? Who will lead the survivors to new sound worlds? Who will chart the new frontier? In a warehouse somewhere in London 2013 a meeting would take place between three musical cosmonauts. They would pool their energies to build a vessel powerful enough to transport any party into outer space. Shabaka Hutchings, Danalogue and Betamax. Together they chart a path based on the encoded language of Sun Ra, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix and the BBC Radiophonic Workshops from which the band’s name emerged. It is after the end of the world, the stage is a spacecraft, the mic is an accelerator. Brace yourself for The Comet is Coming. Support for the show comes from Ata Tat.
