SONDER Festival is a three day music, comedy and arts festival based here in Manchester’s iconic Northern Quarter and spread across several venues. The festival looks to bring together creative talent from across the region and also supports some amazing causes while doing so. SONDER aim to create an incredible festival, while also being able to stay at a price that is inclusive and offers great value for attendees. This year SONDER is showcasing some of the best rising talent around with a plethora of artists who have performed on BBC Introducing, Radio 1, Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 Xtra, XFM and many more, including headliners Prose, The Lottery Winners & Kapital.

Tussle with Ivan Smagghe

For the first in a series of Summer parties, Tussle have invited Ivan Smagghe to play the Stage & Radio basement for them. Ivan has been involved in top shelf production for nearly 20 years. He was formerly one half of Blackstrobe and more recently partnered up with Tim Paris to form It’s A Fine Line. However, it’s his skills behind the decks that have solidified his reputation as one of the most respected characters on the underground house & techno scene. The line up is Ivan Smagghe, Chellis and Levi Bibby.

Miles Mosley & The West Coast Get Down

Miles Mosley is an upright bassist, vocalist, producer, composer and arranger. As a teen he was selected to play bass for the 1996 Grammy All-American High School Jazz Band & Choir, and was acclaimed as a “technical virtuoso” by Los Angeles Times jazz critic, Don Heckman. He received his classical training at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles, had numerous years of study with jazz bass legends John Clayton, Ray Brown, and Al McKibbon, and received his undergraduate degree in music at UCLA. Since then Mosley has greatly expanded his repertoire, mastering the bass and a vast array of instruments, deftly blending Jazz with Rock, Pop, Funk, and R&B. To celebrate the release of his new LP, ‘Uprising‘, Band On The Wall are delighted to welcome Mosley and his full band, The West Coast Get Down, to play for them. Support comes from Better Days DJs.

Either solo, or accompanied by his band, he captivates audiences with his natural, soulful voice, and a repertoire of his arrangements of Jazz, Blues, Groove, Fusion and Soul classics.
