You can expect to hear music from Manchester’s finest musical talents, its greatest icons & those who matter, from the past, the present and the future. 7Suns are a multi-national group of London based musicians whose music is an energizing blend of Afro, Latin, Carribean, Funk and Jazz. This mostly instrumental group’s strong melodies and up-tempo rhythms are played with a deliciously danceable quality and fantastic rock intensity. Founding member and composer Jay Furnival draws his eclectic style from the carnival culture that surrounded him growing up on the council estates of Brixton South London. Hear them bring their “universal music for universal people!” tonight at Matt & Phreds.
