Matt & Phreds
Rioghnach Connolly’s Dark Matter

Tonight at Matt & Phred’s there is a really special show especially for Manchester Jazz Festival 2013!

Dark Matter are an unlikely set-up; one look at the line-up would tell you that. What they have up their multifarious sleeve however is a deep understanding of what this intriguing combination of musicians bring to the fore. Electronic beats, loops & vocal sculpting provide the catalyst for gritty harmonica and powerful brass line to Ríoghnach Connolly‘s colossal folk vocal, while the driving soul-jazz and trip-hop rhythms lead the harmony onward. Why would you want to miss this?
