What's On in the Northern Quarter ~ Friday 25th October

2022NQ
Ben Pearce & Friends

2022NQ brings you a producer who took 2012 by storm with the biggest hit of the year ‘What I Might Do‘. He is the man behind the Manchester label Purp & Soul and is of course Mr Ben Pearce. Ben will be gracing the 2022NQ basement with fellow DJs Quixano of Zuetkh and Will Long & Matt Fleig from Doodle. This will be a fantastic intimate show for all music & house lovers, and for those lucky enough to have tickets for this sold out show.

Rioghnach Connolly, Matt & Phred's

Matt & Phreds
Ríoghnach Connolly’s Dark Matter

Dark Matter are an unlikely set-up; one look at the line-up would tell you that. What they have up their multifarious sleeve, however, is a deep understanding of what this intriguing combination of musicians bring to the fore. Electronic beats, loops & vocal sculpting provide the catalyst for gritty harmonica and powerful brass line to Ríoghnach Connolly‘s colossal folk vocal, while the driving soul-jazz and trip-hop rhythms lead the harmony onward.

Destruction Unit / Helm / Dream Eyes

Destruction Unit are an American band formed in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. Dug up from the sonic landfills of the cosmos, these radical desert dwellers have built a reputation for both mesmerising and terrorising crowds with their sheer power and intensity. Like running head first into a spinning wall of sound, they have been described by the press as “Suicide-meets-Chrome-meets-Hawkwind-meets-Screamers-meets-the-killer-last-scene-reveals-in-all-the-alien-episodes-of-The Twilight Zone” (LA Weekly). However, Destruction Unit’s brand of feedback worship and heavy psych does not sacrifice songwriting or catchiness which you can find out for yourself if you get down to Soup Kitchen tonight. Destruction Unit will be supported by Helm and Dream Eyes.
