Headlining this special show is Timmy P with Oliver Drops, Holly Lester, Mike O’Mara and more who are yet to be announced also taking to the decks for this late night/early morning session. Tonight offers another chance to see one of Matt & Phred’s favourite new bands of 2016, Portmanteau, after their sell out Manchester Festival gig at the club in July this year. Portmanteau are a hard hitting, horn heavy, funk/soul/hiphop 9 piece from Leeds. Made up of some of the finest musicians in the UK the band has made a big impact on the scene with their debut self titled EP. Big original funk with “bright brash brass stabs rippling outward from Tower of Power, while Earth, Wind and Fire tremble appropriately” (The Equal Ground). Expect some original Funk and Hip Hop music alongside unexpected takes on tunes you know. Be prepared to move your feet.
