Trash The Kraak

Paper Recordings and Paper Disco are back in Manchester’s Northern Quarter for a bank holiday night of underground disco, house, grunt and roll and it’s all taking place in Kraak. Playing at Trash The Kraak are Joe Morris (Clandestino), Flash Atkins (Paper Recordings) and Chris Massey (El Diablos Social Club)The first night of mayhem was way back in March and saw a uniting of the clans with the arrival of friends old & new who were literally bouncing off the walls (there were cuts and bruises to prove it). So they’re pleased to be back and doing it all over again at the start of 2014’s last bank holiday weekend.

Angels, Three Minute Theatre

The Three Minute Theatre
Angels / Fracture

Two dark plays about the dark side of human nature tonight at Three Minute Theatre. The first is ‘Angels‘ by John Topliff – A visit from the nurse is nothing to be worried about. But Mr Johnson isn’t too pleased to see her. Angela is insistent though, she’s used to some of her customers being a bit difficult. She’s seen it all. What starts out as a routine appointment soon turns into something more sinister. Suspicion and secrets, lies and more lies. What is Mr Johnson trying to hide? What does Angela want from him? Where do you go when the world has made a monster out of you? And how can the world be rid of monsters? Somebody’s got to do it. With Sophie Anne Ellicott as Angela and Christopher Faith as Mr Johnson Directed by John Topliff. The second is ‘Fracture‘ by David Riley and Vicky Ellis – It’s just another day at the office for the Brothers. Business is picking up, but keeping the customer satisfied gets harder and harder. In more ways than one. The Boss is never satisfied and the girls need careful handling. It’s not easy. Sometimes you have to do things; things that you wouldn’t dream of. It’s not forever though. Their big break could come any day now: The Brothers, The Girls. Then Egan rings. He wants to try something new; different, dangerous. Little Brother isn’t keen, he’s a little a little too involved with the merchandise. But he’s persuaded. He always is. The decision is made, but their dark, secret world, and everyone in it, is about to be broken, fractured beyond repair… A new play that explores the deep, dark cracks that exist below the surface of our society.
