For many of us January represents a month of abstinence from a lot of the good things in life. Diet and detox is the name of the game and carbs and booze are often part of a self-imposed ban guaranteed to make us miserable if nothing else. Well Bakerie have the perfect antidote to that all the January misery and with huge reductions on over 200 wines from across the globe, there is no better time to shop at the Bakerie Wine Store!

Bakerie Wine Store

Bakerie Wine Store is Manchester’s newest independent wine retailer and is an Aladdin’s cave of vinous goodies from all over the world. Your first task is to find it; it is situated in the Hive building, tucked away down a little street to the right of Bakerie proper, but it’s well worth seeking out. There is an amazing selection of wines to take away from around the globe and if you fancy trying some before you buy there are always 16 wines open to taste on the ‘wine jukebox‘. If you can’t face the cold on your walk home with your new wine purchase there is the option to drink your wine in store with only a £5 corkage on any bottle regardless of price, making the wine store a great place to meet friends and relax! The atmosphere is informal and the staff are friendly, helpful and informative.

Wine Jukebox

With the Bakerie Wine Store’s unique Wine Jukebox you can try your hand at creating your own personal wine tasting session. 16 wines (8 red & 8 white) are handpicked and preserved in perfect condition in this wine preservation machine. Simply purchase a jukebox card and top up with as much credit as you like, then select the wine you would like to try and the size of the sample you would like. As a guide £20 credit will allow you to try every single wine available but I have found that the smallest sample size is a bit disappointing in quantity delivered so you may need to up the stakes a little. Weird and wonderful wines from all over the world are what’s on offer in the jukebox. It might be a Cru Chablis, it might be a zinfandel from India! Wines are changed regularly so there’s always something new to try. To make your sampling go that bit further in January when you spend £20 credit on the wine jukebox you will receive £5 extra credit free of charge!

2013 will also see the introduction of the all-new Wine Diary at the Bakerie Wine Store. Filled with regular events, tastings, product launches and so much more there is always something going on. Watch this space…..
