On Wednesday 1st June PLY launches its brand new menu, including seasonally inspired small plates, new Neapolitan wood fired pizzas, authentic Italian desserts and indulgent dessert cocktails.
To complement its now famous disco-oven cooked pizza, PLY is introducing a number of small plates, a deliciously light treat to go with a fresh cocktail or craft beer from PLY’s drinks menu. Small plates include succulent lemon marinated Sardine Fillets (£7) with rosemary bread, and Salumi (£8), comprising of coppa, soft nduja, salami, pickles and confit tomato. Also new is the plate of Octopus (£7) with new potatoes, capers, citrus, and parsley and the board of incredible Rosemary Bread (£1.50) served with rocket and olive oil.
Back to that disco pizza oven though and PLY is introducing some exciting new toppings to its signature sourdough base. Colonnata (£9.50) is a bianca base with mozzarella, pork back, morajam pesto and rosemary whilst the Quattro Formaggi (£9.50) is a treat for cheese lovers with a mix of mozzarella, scamorza, gorgonzola and fotina melting together.Meat lovers will love the Vulcano (£10) tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni, nduja, honey and basil, while vegetarians are taken care of with Roast Vegetables (£9) tomato, mozzarella, red pepper, courgette and aubergine.
On the dessert menu, joining the Italian classics of Tiramisu and Panna Cotta, is the brand new Pizza Docle (£6.50), fresh fruit with an abundance of Nutella and marscapone on a thin PLY sourdough base. Also new is the traditional Cheesecake (£6.50), like “Mama used to make“, baked to perfection with a fresh and fruity strawberry sauce.
But you can’t just celebrate summer (assuming we get one this year!) and so PLY is also launching its brand new dessert cocktail menu. Endless Summer (£7) is a sweet combination of vodka, strawberry, rainbow drops and squirty cream, or for a more exotic flavour combo try the Polynesian Flip (£7) made with rum, chocolate, honey and spice. Make like Tommy and try the Pinball Wizard (£7); vodka, bubblegum, ricotta, marshmallows and glitter, or if you want to keep to a more traditional Italian vibe go for the Tiramiswooh! (£7) amaretto, chocolate orange, espresso and cream. That’s the one for me!
“Our inspiration was to make the menu even more welcoming and flexible, so we’ve introduced more small plates, so now customers coming in for a drink and a quick bite have far more choice, plus our dinner guests now have the option to go for three courses. I love the new small plate selection, the Octopus and Salumi are stand out dishes…from the new pizza menu, my firm favourites are the Colonnata and the Quattro Formaggi, both full of strong flavours and authentic Italian taste.” ~ Cristian Andrade, Head Chef
