Funkademia takes place every Saturday to a consistently full house, feeding a friendly crowd with a diet of pure unadulterated soul-funk. We bill our night as a ‘chronological history of soul’ with our dj collective taking you on a journey through four decades of the very best soul, funk, disco and hip-hop with a touch of smooth r and b and some big house classics. Funkademia does sell out most weeks so you are advised to either arrive early or purchase advance tickets, this way you can avoid the queues or even the sold out sign.

GUILTY PLEASURES at the Ruby Lounge

Guilty Pleasures bounces back in your lives in hi top trainers and leotards ready to whip you into shape at the Let’s Get Physical Workout Party!

After weeks of meaty meals and selection packs for breakfast, we need to give our bodies a jump-start so that we’re fighting fit for this exciting year of watching tax payers money turn into fireworks over a former desolate wasteland in that there London!

Leading you all in a heart-pumping, disco dancing, full throttle workout of a night out will be djs, hosts and former Slimmer’s World champions:

Sean Rowley
Anna Greenwood
Jane Weaver

Providing the soundtrack of euphoric pop and disco, they’ll be banishing the bingo wings as we dance until dawn, sweat off that stuffing and having ourselves a right good time.

Trof

Mondo Pop!
If it wasn’t for the outrageous blackmailing of the powers that be at Trof, Mof Gimmers would have never got the chance to share his love of outlandish pop music at his weekly, Saturday night musical variety show, Mondo Pop!

Until Trof gets the incriminating video tape from Mof’s cold, dead hands, he’ll spin soul, funk, disco, pop, rock and more from across the ages. So expect cheeky cover versions of songs you know and songs you haven’t heard for ages, but wish you had.

Feel free to ask him for requests. He might not have it, but he won’t sneer at you (in fact, he might try kissing you). Good vibes and dancing to be had ’til late! Dancing on tables encouraged.

Free entry / £1.00 after 10pm
