The Pen and Pencil is set to host Purple Stardust, a party from writer and DJ Simon Price, to celebrate two of the world’s biggest stars, David Bowie and Prince, two men who defined the 70s and 80s. Taking place on Friday 28th July, the evening will have back-to-back bangers from both artists, and video mash-ups featuring the two iconic stars. The one-night-only event will be the first non-festival Purple Stardust, and will be a full-length set from 8pm, exclusively for The Pen and Pencil.

The whole concept began in the summer of 2016 – the year when the two legends passed away – with a massive party at the Into The Great Wide Open festival off the coast of the Netherlands, with Simon Price and Joost Van Bellen sending 700 Dutch people absolutely crazy. This year, Simon Price (Spellbound, Stay Beautiful) is taking the Purple Stardust idea to the UK festivals, with sets at popular festivals including Kendal Calling and Festival No.6. Check it out in the more intimate, and rain free, surroundings of Pen & Pencil, but make sure you get there early, it’s bound to be packed!
