Pug Cafe, Pen Pencil 300

Yep, you read that headline right, there’s a Pug Café coming to The Pen & Pencil for a one off, one day only party! To celebrate Chinese New Year, that just happens to be the start of the Year of the Dog, Pug Cafe and The Pen and Pencil have teamed up & invite the pugs and pug crosses of Manchester and the North West to join them on Sunday 4th March.

The pug was the prized pet of the Emperors of China and lived a lap of luxury; they were even given the same status as their wives – spoilt and treated just like royalty! The Pen & Pencil would love to do the same for all the pugs in the North West by hosting a fabulous party just for pugs to help China celebrate Year of the Dog.

Proud Pug or Pug Cross owners (pugs, jugs, pugzus, pugaliers and more are all welcome) can bring their curly-tailed pals to the famous Pug Cafe to meet lots of new friends and tuck into some delicious doggy treats. Don’t have your own Pug? No problem, Pug lovers are also welcome!

Guests at this strictly booking only event can look forward to a beautiful Chinese-themed New Year venue, Chinese-inspired doggy treats and plenty of chances for their Pug to party with their new friends at this New Year Celebration.

There will be a whole menu dedicated to pugs for pugs that will include delicious ‘pupcakes’, ‘dognuts’, cookies and lots more. Pug Cafe has always prided themselves on bringing a completely natural, dog-friendly menu to their events where owners can spoil their pug to all kinds of delicious treats. Plus Pug Cafe will be serving their famous Puguccinos for free!

As for the humans, while the pugs are having a great time meeting new friends, they’ll be able celebrate in style at The Pen and Pencil – where there will be their signature dishes on offer (with a few Chinese-inspired treats) and plenty of fabulous cocktails – a delicious taste of the orient! Even if you don’t have a pug this is the paw-fect chance to celebrate Chinese New Year if you love dogs! Pug Cafe invites pug lovers to the New Years pug pawty, too and gives dog lovers the chance to get involved with some pug-loving and meet a whole grumble of pugs and lavish them with lots of love, and celebrate!

The Pen and Pencil is already a dog-friendly venue here in the heart of the Northern Quarter and look forward to welcoming the pugs of Manchester to this event. They will be closed to the public between 10am-6.30pm when they will be transformed into the famous Pug Cafe.

We are very excited to be hosting this special Year of the Dog party! The pug is a very old Chinese breed and was kept as pets and held in very high regard by the Emperors of China. To this day, pug owners lavish lots of attention and love on their beloved pugs. Pug Cafe are fully embracing this growing movement of sharing special experiences with our dogs. We love that the UK is so dog friendly, and we can enjoy events such as this so we’re celebrating Year of the Dog in the way we know best –with one big pug party!” ~ Anushka, Pug Cafe organiser

We get lots of doggy regulars visiting us at The Pen and Pencil and so we’re looking forward to having a venue full of pugs on March 4th!” ~ Lauren Clark, The Pen and Pencil
