Oxfam turns 70 this month, and Oxfam Originals, right here in the heart of the Northern Quarter, is inviting you to join them to celebrate.
The invite-only event will be held at the Oxfam Originals shop, at 51 Oldham Street, on Thursday 25th October from 6pm to 8pm. Like any good birthday party there will be delicious cake, cups of tea, tasty treats and great music. There will also be an exclusive opportunity to view, and shop from, the very special selection of vintage clothes that featured in Oxfam Original’s latest fashion shoot. “And as if that’s not enough, we’ll also be giving you 10% off everything you buy on the night,” says shop manager, Zara Fakhry-Daryan “It’s going to be a great evening!”
Oxfam Originals sells a range of clothing, shoes and accessories for men and women. All of the shop’s stock is donated by generous members of the pblic, and can include vintage gems such as handmade summer frocks frmo the 1970s to Barbour waterproofs and Harris Tweed jackets.
Since its Oxford-based beginnings in 1942, Oxfam has grown into a worldwide humanitarian, development and campaigning organisation, working on a diverse rance of projects, from providing emergency water supplies to supporting community health projects. And across the UK, Oxfam is inviting the public to join them in these momentous 70th birthday celebrations.
Look out for Oxfam Originals volunteers who will be handing out the VIP invitations in Manchester city centre this week. You can also call into the Oldham Street store to request an invite.
The Oxfam Originals shop raises valuable funds for Oxfam to continue its life-saving work. Donations of clothing, shoes and accessories are always welcome in the shop, which is open 7 days a week. Ayybody wishing to donate their time by volunteering can do so by filling in an application form in the shop.
