Northern Quarter ~ Best places for food & drinks in the sun!

The chances to dine/drink al-fresco in the Northern Quarter are sadly few and far between, but the current stretch of sunny (and warm) weather is giving us all ample opportunity to enjoy a little bit of the great outdoors. The one thing we are most definitely NOT blessed with in the Northern Quarter is any decent green space, but if you know your way around the area you can get a decent amount of sunshine. So here’s a quick list of all the places you can catch some rays this summer….hopefully.

Patios ~ Bluu / TNQ Restuarant (In the picture above) / Pie & Ale / Oak Street Cafe / Solita / Tib Street Gardens (Outside Wood & Simple)

On Pavement – Cafes ~ Sugar Junction / Home Sweet Home / Teacup on Thomas / Oklahoma / Slice / Chai Latte / Eastern Bloc / Koffee Pot / Rosy Lee Tea Rooms / Cane & Grain

On Pavement - Bars & Restaurants ~ The Blue Pig / Solita / The Bay Horse / Walrus / Marble Beers / Market Restaurant / Common / Dry Bar / Night & Day / TNQ Restaurant / Dough / Evuna / The Whiskey Jar

(Secret) Gardens ~ Home Sweet Home / The Bay Horse / Port Street Beer House / Nexus

Outdoor seating but not much sun (if any)! ~ Odd Bar / Simple / North Tea Power / Soup Kitchen

I’ll add in some pretty pictures and a bit more detail in the coming days but for now enjoy the sunshine (and don’t forget the sunscreen!).

P.S. If I’ve missed anywhere then let me know in the comments and I’ll get them added.

Manchester Craft and Design Centre has outdoor seating at the front and side of the building which gets lots of sun! The cafe does lots of lovely food and is licensed too so you can have a booze in the sunshine :)

I noticed Nexus Art Cafe has a garden, although I’ve never used it.

Hi Matt, thanks for the great list of places to go in the NQ. I hope the sun sticks around long enough for me to visit a few of them during the weekend!

I hope you’ve been enjoying the weather!
