If anywhere in Manchester was likely to put on Manchester’s very first Whisky Festival my money would have been on The Whiskey Jar. Fortunately my money would have been safe as Sunday 5th June 2016 sees that first Whisky Festival take place in the Tariff Street bar.
With over 300 whiskies available to buy and try on site, as well as talks and seminars from a whole host of professionals within the industry, this is certainly one not to be missed by any Whisky, or indeed Whiskey, lover. Also on the day there will be food stalls, all with Whisky twists, loads of live music throughout, and a cocktail bar specialising in ingenious cocktails all made with whiskies from around the world.
Included in the price of your ticket will be your very own whisky tasting glass, which you can use to taste one 20ml whisky sample from each of four stands; Scotch, Irish, American & Bourbon, World. Entrance to the talks is limited however is included in the ticket price.
Tickets are £25 and there are two sessions; daytime from Noon until 4.30pm, and evening from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. This first festival is going to be hosted on home soil at The Whiskey Jar right here in the Northern quarter.
