Filled with bright sweet, tropical fruits, ice creams, Balearic sunsets, Aztec prints and palm trees, the Happy Paradise collection is intended as escapism from the mid-September slump before moving into autumn, and will be shown in the form of large scale prints, created from digitally manipulated illustrations and photographs, exhibited around the main exhibition space in Kosmonaut.

To celebrate the launch Lisa is creating her own Happy Paradise, completely taking over the venue and transforming it into a tropical wonderland with huge prints hanging from the walls, visuals beaming across the space, staff wearing Stannard designs, DJs, themed cocktails and an interactive work station for guests to have a go at creating their own, edible, prints.

With a nod to the to Manchester Food and Drink Festival, which is running throughout the city at the time of launch, Lisa will be printing out smaller scale, edible versions of her work for those in attendance to take home,or eat, and giving them the opportunity to print their own Happy Paradise cupcakes at the launch party.

Supplying a soundtrack of mind-bending sounds to the tropical takeover is Red Laser Records boss-man, Woody AKA Il Bosco. Red Laser is one of the most highly regarded party-throwers in Manchester and with a selection spanning through a world of genres they never fail to impress. Joining Red Laser on the bill with a selection tailored to the exhibition are the SSR DJs.

“I want to show people that I will never stop being a print designer and have produced a physical exhibition of Happy Paradise to show the impact and quality of my new work large scale.”

“Also, following work with brands such as Alexander McQueen, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Whitney Eve and Nasty Gal as well as being a part-time yoga teacher I wanted to create something just for the fun of it!” ~ Lisa Stannard
