They may have only recently opened but Cottonopolis arebusy making a noise in the music scene from the stat, booking the likes of BE (Garth Be) as their resident Saturday night DJ and ‘DJ of the YearWill Tramp, as well as a slue of highly acclaimed music enthusiasts. To take things up another notch, Kyla Brox will be playing live blues in the bar on December 20.

Kyla Brox, one of the UK’s authentic blues and soul artists, was born with rhythm running through her veins. Daughter of singers Victor and Annette Brox, Kyla joined her father’s band at age 13 and entered the world of music in her own right. After stints singing in France and even in the Australian outback, Kyla came to Manchester and with Danny Blomely formed a duo, which added members to become the Kyla Brox Band. They plied their trade in Victor’s old stomping grounds in North West pubs and clubs, before a career-making performance at Colne Blues Festival in 2002 sealed Kyla’s reputation as the first lady of the British blues.
