Ian Skelly & The Serpent Power, Night & Day Cafe

Ramalama presents Ian Skelly & The Serpent Power plus special guests Section 60 at Night & Day Café on Saturday 26th October, bringing Ian and many of his bandmates from The Coral to perform a very intimate gig on the famous stage at Night & Day where Ian and his band will perform tracks from his solo album ‘Cut From A Star‘ (and a few others from his back catalogue I would imagine, but I can’t promise!).

‘Cut From A Star’ is the debut album of British singer/ songwriter, multi- instrumentalist and visual artist Ian Skelly. After drumming in The Coral for over a decade he has now recorded his first solo LP. The album was released in December 2012, and was recorded in The Coral Rehearsal space (The Coral Caves). It includes appearances by James Skelly featured playing bass on ‘Cut from A Star‘ with Paul Duffy and Nick Power featuring throughout the whole album contributing bass and keyboard parts. The album also includes Sundowners on backing vocals and guitar and bass for the song ‘I See You‘. Lee Southall plays lead guitar on the track ‘Time‘ with Bob Pickin on double bass and harmonica for the tracks ‘DNA‘ and ‘Cut From A Star‘ and Miles Kane is on guitar for the end track ‘It’s Only Love‘. All sessions were hands on recorded by Ian Skelly himself with the music combining influences from the spiritual side of psychedelia and emulating the techniques of 60?s and 70?s recording.
