Home Sweet Home describe themselves as “a milk bar and kitchen in Manchester’s Northern Quarter serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week“. I’m not really sure how to describe this place and I’m sure if you asked 100 people you would get 100 different answers.
What they do at Home Sweet Home is make classic american dishes with high quality fresh ingredients. Crispy buttermilk fried chicken on waffles with streaky bacon and maple syrup. Amazing Fish Tacos. Burgers and BBQ Brisket melts. Comfort food speaks to everyone and that’s what this place is all about! Home Sweet Home was born out of a love for good, simple food and drink, home comforts and things that make you feel special and this can clearly be felt in everything they do. Their cake counter is filled with cakes and treats from their bakery (if you’re craving BakeORama’s insanely delicious cakes you’ll need to head to MilkJam down on Oxford Road now). Making sure that there is always a perfect accompaniment to that slice of indulgence their coffee machine is never off and their baristas are pretty damn passionate about the java they serve.
These guys have won plenty of awards, most recently the Manchester Food & Drink Festival Awards 2013 – Best Coffee Bar or Tea Shop and it’s not hard to see why. You should probably check them out for yourself
