The Big Chook Off is returning to Yard & Coop this October, providing the folks of Manchester with FREE buttermilk fried chicken.

On Wednesday 11 October, the Edge Street restaurant will be swinging open its doors for people to grab themselves some chicken and chips, all completely for free, throughout the entire day. Yard & Coop is planning to once again reach its record of ONE THOUSAND pieces of chicken by getting as many people in the North West visiting the restaurant on Wednesday.

We seriously love our chicken and booze at Yard & Coop, so when our Big Chook Off events come round it’s so awesome to see so many people from the city tuck into our buttermilk fried chicken and fries. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the restaurant on Wednesday 11 October, so we can smash our 1000 bird target.” ~ Carl Morris, co-owner of Yard & Coop

On the day, Yard & Coop will be collecting for a local homeless charity, Mustard Tree Manchester, with the restaurant doubling the money raised from diners.

This October, the team at Yard & Coop will be donating funds to The Mustard Tree, a local homeless charity in the Northern Quarter. Feeding Manchester free chicken for the day is amazing, but this time we want to make sure that absolutely everyone from the city gets to benefit from our Big Chook Off.” ~ Laura Morris, co-owner of Yard & Coop

To receive your free plate of buttermilk fried chicken and chips, all you need to do is sign up to Yard & Coop database, this can be done at or in the restaurant on the day.

The Big Chook Off starts at 12pm and runs until Midnight on Wednesday 11 October. Yard & Coop will be providing one piece of buttermilk chicken and chips per person & will be providing 1000 free pieces of chicken on the day, so once it’s gone, it’s gone!
