The Northern Quarter has always been a hotbed for creative talents, start up businesses and generally people with a passion. The two Mancunian brothers behind the fashion label Dead Legacy fit into all 3 of those categories.
Nick & Danny Costello started Dead Legacy because they saw a gap in the mens’ fashion market for a fresh new brand and they wanted to fill it. They take their inspiration from a variety of different sources – music, cinema and art to name a few, and the many different styles that these medium can take and also draw inspiration from the very place they set up shop (well more showroom!) – the Northern Quarter. Not so obvious from their latest collection as you can see!
Over time they have built up a range of over 50 t-shirts and have sweatshirts, snapbacks and watches to match and the brand continues to evolve with better designs and more technical garments. Hard work and determination has seen them get Dead Legacy stocked in over 60 stores in the UK including some posh ones like Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser. It seems though that the Swedes have a particular liking for Dead Legacy though with 75 stores throughout Sweden selling their gear.
Closer to home they have fans from all walks of life but most notably professional sportsmen can’t seem to get enough Dead Legacy with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Manu Tuilagi, Scott Quigg and Ricky Hatton amongst the ever growing fan base.
They are looking to get out into the Manchester ‘scene’ and their first partnership in the Northern Quarter has seen them join forces with Almost Famous to provide the ‘uniform’ for the team down at the Almost Famous Beach Club. A perfect fit for their tropical/surf themed Summer 2013 tees. Keep your eyes peeled for more NQ collabs in the future.
