Kosmonaut opened on Tariff Street long before it became the bar filled street it is today, and since opening has always sought to bring something a little different to the Northern Quarter. With renowned DJs playing records on a regular basis, creative events, exhibitions, tasting events and pop ups, Kosmonaut has plenty of options when it comes to having a good time and now they are adding in another element; comedy. Here’s their line up for July and the coming months…

Geins Family Gift Shop, Kosmonaut

Gein’s Family Gift Shop is back once again in the basement at Kosmonaut for another sinister session of the darker side of comedic entertainment. Gein’s Family Gift Shop formed in 2012; exasperated with the sketch scene as they saw it, they got together with the intention of creating original and engaging sketch comedy that never forgets the punchline. GFGS takes over the basement every first Monday of the month.

Elastic Bandits, Kosmonaut

Elastic Bandits Theatre Company is be making its debut at Kosmonaut for a brand new monthly session of improvised comedy. The Elastic Bandits is a newly established collective with the vision of recreating published work with a unique and contemporary approach. Consisting of improvised games for creative theatre types, Elastic Bandits invite guests to network with others, promote their own work and explore what’s happening on the theatrical and comedy Manchester scene. Elastic Bandits happens every second Monday of the month.

Dead Cat Comedy returns to Kosmonaut with its anarchic evening of alternative entertainment from some of the UK’s maddest comedians, MACE. As seen on BBC3 comedy ‘Ideal‘, Edinburgh Fringe Award Nominee Seymour Mace headlines proceedings. Providing support will be Sam & Tom and Rick Murtagh alongside regular host Red Redmond.MACE will be hosting a LGBT Pride special on August 18th bringing Jonathan Mayor, Lucy Thompson and Kate McCabe along for the ride. MACE happens every 3rd Monday of the month.

Brennan Reece, Kosmonaut

Brennan Reece – Work in Progress
Monday 25th July / 8pm – 11pm / FREE

Kosmonaut welcomes English Comedian of the Year 2015 Brennan Reece to the Tariff Street basement for his new stand up project ‘Work in Progress’. Brennan Reece has a solid background in comedy, winning and going up against titles such as the BBC New Comedy Award, The World Series, Amused Moose Comedy and his hometown title of Preston Comedian of the Year. Work In Progress happens every last Monday of the month.
