Teacup on Thomas St have teamed up with Joey Collins of Troffel to produce a pop-up chocolate shop in the heart of the Northern Quarter to bring us fine chocolates from around the world and uniquely, fresh chocolates handmade on site. You just won’t find that anywhere else in Manchester. And did I mention the divine hot chocolate?
Bonbon Chocolate Workshop is both a chocolatier and a boutique; creating fresh, handmade chocolates on the premises and trading the finest chocolates from around the world. A trained artist and designer, chocolatier Joey Collins explores flavours and textures through chocolate and presents his work in the stylishly refurbished Northern Quarter address.
All bonbons are crafted from world renowned Valrhona chocolate (favoured by Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsey), filled and infused with inspired flavours like lemon curd & goats cheese. Joey works with only the finest ingredients and creates chocolates without preservatives for a pure, fresh taste.
Hot chocolate at Bonbon is unmistakable. 66% Valrhona chocolate is slowly melted to create a thick, rich chocolate espresso. A purist, Joey doesn’t add milk or cream (which would dilute the flavour) instead, the hot chocolate is served straight or with a dollop of salted caramel or freshly grated orange zest.
As a boutique, Bonbon offers an ever changing selection of the best chocolates from around the world. Delights from two of the UK’s finest chocolatiers Paul A Young (who was on Sunday Brunch just this week) and Willie Harcourt-Cooze are currently available, as well as single estate delights from Marou of Vietnam.
Bonbon Chocolate Workshop will be open throughout the festive season and into the new year at the following times;
11am – 6pm Wednesday to Sunday
Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment only
